I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit;
for without Me you can do nothing.
John 15:5-6 Who We AreWalking in His Ways (WIHW) is the ministry arm of Dynamic Journey Leadership Consulting. The Hebrew word for ways (d’rak) is very rich. According to the Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament[1] the basic concept is to take possession by setting foot on territories or objects, especially to receive an inheritance. Or it can mean the Lord taking the high places or mountaintops. D’rak can also refer to a path worn by constant walking which speaks to the values and practices of a person. Psalm 103:7 states, “He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.” God spoke to Moses face to face, which speaks of intimacy. The rest of Israel only knew of His acts because they did not go daily into the tent of meeting. Walking in His Ways teaches people to know God intimately and then to walk in His Ways (character) while actively engaging their lives, ministries, and the world with the purposes of God. Thus we become co-creators with God. Isaiah 2:2-4, speaks of the mountain of the Lord where the people of the nations will flow to learn God’s ways and how to walk on His path. It will be established on the mountains and be exalted above the hills. I believe this is the kingdom place that Kingdom Leaders access to gain God’s strategies and how to do it according to His ways. When this word goes forth from Zion (the people of God), then genuine peace on the earth will begin. LeadershipDr. Deborah F. Jenks founded Walking in His Ways in 1993 and Dynamic Journey Leadership Consulting in 2006. She is an ordained minister through Overflowing Life and a former missionary with YWAM and Calvary International. Her home church is The Gate DC. Her first book First Things First, Walking in God’s Ways: Passion was published in 2002. Deborah activates believers to be leaders who take hold of the substance of the heavenly realm to bring transformation on the earth. She hears the heart of the Father for His children and releases them to walk in the fullness of their destiny. Her love of the Bible is evident as she speaks. In 1995, Deborah led a team to create a Prayer Walk that would teach people how to pray for cities in the seven spheres of influence. YWAM’s teaching on the seven spheres of influence or mind molders influenced her view of how to see society, whether it transforms Christians or whether Christians are catalysts to transform society. Time spent in His presence and in prophetic experiences taught her to see what God is doing and pull the substance of heaven into the natural realm to perform God’s will. Her doctoral work adds leadership theory, which combined with Biblical scholarship, results in the Kingdom Leadership framework presented in this article and the seminar Kingdom Leaders for Such a Time. The seminar is designed for a Friday night and a Saturday. The sessions provide a balance between teaching and personal application of the concepts through individual and group creativity exercises. The objective of the seminar is to affirm each attendee’s calling as a kingdom leader, provide a Biblical and leadership framework, begin to equip attendees for the task, and activate each person’s calling as a Kingdom Leader “for such a time.” She is writing a book on kingdom leadership. ServicesDeborah is available to teach, create, and lead seminars for churches or Christian events to activate believers into moving from passivity to co-creating with God a new future based in the heart of God.
