I’d like us to dialogue on leadership in the Kingdom of God.

First let me ask you, “Have you come to the Kingdom for such a time as this?” This is Mordecai’s challenge to Esther (Esther 4:14). She must choose whether to remain incognito in her position in the ungodly Persian court or to stand up for God and His purposes. We know she elected to risk death. However, she did not approach the King capriciously. Instead she (and all the Jews) fasted and prayed for three days to receive a specific strategy from God on how to beseech the King for mercy (4:16). Then she executed the strategy following His specific directions and with a humble attitude that requested favor (5). The resulting salvation of the Jews is remembered and celebrated annually in the Feast of Purim.

We are in a strategic time. Jesus is asking each of His followers to begin to walk in His ways rather than in the ways of man. For most of us this is shift in our mindset. First, we need to switch from a mindset that desires to build worldly kingdoms and measures success in worldly terms. Instead we need a mindset that looks to build the Kingdom of God.

How do we do this? More to come.
